Zira Namataka and her younger brothers and sister cover many miles in a day, walking long distances to get water and firewood, and to attend school. But they never grumble. Instead they love every minute of their daily routine, remembering how miserable they once were. Just a few years ago they were unable to go to school regularly - and a poor diet meant that they often fell ill. Now, because of a cow from Send a Cow, they have fresh milk, fruit and vegetables every day! Furthermore, their parents are able to sell the surplus to buy household essentials, such as salt and soap, and to pay school costs.
